Why Participate in the Safe Homes Program?
Alcohol remains the #1 drug abused across the country. Perry County eighth and twelfth graders are 10% above the state average for: 30 day use of alcohol, five or more servings of alcohol at the same time, and marijuana.
The number of students reproting the use of any form of alcohol (last thirty days) in Perry County are as follows:
5.3% of 6th Graders
19.2% of 8th Graders
37.9% of 10th Graders
53.1% of 12th Graders
How does Safe Homes Work?
The program begins when the parent(s) sign the Safe Homes Pledge Card. When you make the Safe Homes Pledge you are helping to support a drug-free environment for the children/youth of Perry County.

- Positive parental influence on your children/adolescents.
- The promotion of parents supporting parents.
- Challenging the attitude among youth that underage use of alcohol is normal, healthy behavior.

- Strengthen the communication among parents and their children/youth.

HHAT is a current recipient of the Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG). This grant is administered by the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Office of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention (ADAP).
